Case : Sterling Silver Hallmarked Chester 1882. Three hinged type. In good condition uncleaned with coin edging and engine turned on case back with vacant cartouche. With a small dent between 11 and 12 o'clock on outside case back. Double bottomed with hole for access for winding with number 5 key - not supplied. Inside of case back shows a number of tiny marks from previous watch makers repairs and initials stamped JR on the case for casemaker. Large bow ring and hallmarked pendant present.
Dial : Large white enamel dial face in excellent condition with no cracks or hairlines with black bold roman numerals and minute markers on outside chapter ring. Central hands are gold whip and spade and are set from the central winding square at the front. Subsidiary seconds dial present at 6 o'clock with working sweep hand. Crystal glass is missing. Improved patent marked on dial face.
Movement : Improved patent fusee type movement. Round pillars marked with serial number 57821. Engraved on the movement is H.WOLFE Manchester. The balance cock is decoratively engraved and looks to have a ruby endstone. Cannot be certain but looks to be a solid gold balance wheel. The movement is finished off with blued steel screws and has a protective dust cover.
THE MOVEMENT WINDS SMOOTHLY WITH A NUMBER 5 KEY AND RUNS WITH A NICE TICK.
