A real solid heavy weight in original uncleaned condition

Case: Solid silver hinged front and back with inside double bottom only holed for access to winding stem. Case in uncleaned condition with original patina. Large ring and hallmarked pendant. Plain case back with engraved centre showing vacant cartouche with coin edging around case body. Inside case back hallmarked for Birmingham 1915 and stamped 720713 with initials T R - Thomas Russell. Tiny markings from former watch makers repairs.
Dial: Beautiful white enamel dial in unmarked condition signed Thos. Russell and Son Liverpool with bold black roman numerals and minute markers on the outside chapter ring. Central hands are whip and spade type and are in solid gold in very good condition. Subsidiary dial present marked every ten seconds with working blued steel sweep hand. Thick bevelled crystal glass is partly chipped and so the crystal is loosened and will need replacing.
Movement: Old English lever type escapement in very good clean conditon throughout. Dial signed Thomas Russel and Son Liverpool with serial number 202869. English Lever and safety pinion are engraved on the movement. The balance endstone is a ruby. The movement has a compensated balance wheel with a highly decorative balance cock and the movement is proctected with a locking case.
THIS IS A SOLID EXAMPLE OF A GOOD OLD ENGLISH LEVER POCKET WATCH. THE WATCH WINDS SMOOTHLY WITH A NO.8 KEY, WITH THE ORIGINAL KEY SUPPLIED AND RUNS VERY WELL WITH A GOOD STRONG TICK.
