Antique Pocket Watch Chronograph Movement 1884-86 Hoffmann of South Shields

Dial: The white enamel dial is in an undamaged condition and is marked J.V,.Hoffmann South Shields with all hands present and has division markings for chronograph use and is marked centre seconds chronograph. Black Roman numerals. Gold spade type central hands together with a blue steeled centre seconds hand. The Gold minute hand is slightly bent.
Movement: Heavy brass going barrel stem winding movement without winder, marked J V Hoffmann of South Shields County Durham which according to Looms Reference Book shows as Jens Von Hoffmann dating to 1884 - 86. Shows serial number 139361. Is in very good condition with a three quarter brass plate and round pillars between plates. Blued steel screws. The movement has a compensated balance with gold screws with a ruby endstone. There is a pin set lever in the one o'clock position which when moved allows the balance to start moving. The balance does seem to move so the movement seems to be part wound.
